The Plazuela Machado is a gem for Mazatlan, it is a place full of life at night. It was built in 1873 by Don Juan Nepomuceno Machado, a wealthy fabric merchant who bought the property as a donation to the town on the condition that it would be a plaza for the enjoyment of the people of Mazatlan.

In its beginnings the Plazuela Machado had an esplanade with 36 stone benches and large orange trees, for many years it was known as El Paseo de los Naranjos.

Currently it has a central kiosk which is used for shows, presentations and exhibitions. It is now surrounded by restaurants and bars and stalls of artisans selling their products, which makes it even more attractive. In the surrounding area there are also more restaurants, cafes and bars. A common tradition is that at the end of a long day they go to the historic center and people stroll to the Plazuela Machado to enjoy the music and the people.

The heart of the historic center, a magical space full of joy. It is the venue for many cultural, political, entertainment, gastronomic and Carnival events.

A perfect way to end your day and enjoy the night, after touring the beaches of Mazatlan, the beautiful Historic Center and Olas Altas.  A few meters away you will find the Angela Peralta Theater, another treasure that Mazatlan gives us, a space full of history, culture and exquisite architecture.

You can also be part of this incredible place by staying at a beachfront hotel in Mazatlan.
