The largest Aquarium in Latin America will be located in Mazatlán

Everything is going in the best way in the construction of the new aquarium that Mazatlán will have.

And this sensational project is destined to become the largest aquarium in Latin America and one of the 10 largest in the world.

 

 

But first we will start by talking about where this super enclosure will be located, it will be located in the new Central Park Mazatlán, which is expected to have a large lake with flora and fauna, an incredible bike path, games for children, trails, natural spaces, areas for workshops and a couple of coffee shops.

 

 

This new park will be located in a strategic point of the city, the urban heart of Mazatlán being the part selected for its construction, so during your visit to the port it will be impossible to miss this amazing place, since it will house about 93,861 square meters.

 

 

The spectacular three-story building will feature 19 showrooms and four interior courtyards. The most important exhibits will be the oceanic fish tank, which will contain 2.5 million liters of water with an acrylic window 6 meters high by 12 meters in front, and a coral tank with 7 meters in diameter and 5 meters high.

 

 

The best of all this Mazatlán Central Park is that the entrance will be totally free and that its inauguration is estimated for the spring of 2022.

 

 

The New Mazatlán Aquarium will have an area of ​​50,000 m2 and an investment of more than 70 million dollars, defining as its main objectives: research, education and dissemination of knowledge through a foundation and the Marine Life Research Center.

 

 

It should also be noted that this new aquarium will be dedicated to the Sea of ​​Cortez, and will function as a research center for the conservation of the flora and fauna of the aquatic ecosystems that will be integrated into the enclosure.

 

 

The authorities explain that with the creation of this new project, Mazatlán will have many benefits, among which are:

-Improve the attractiveness of Mazatlán for both tourists and locals.

-Promote tourism by expanding the cultural, recreational and learning offer.

-Increase the annual percentage of occupancy and average tourist rate.

-Improve the image of Sinaloa in the regional, national and international market.

-Collaborate in the conservation of the sea turtle.

 

 

The aquarium will have almost 5 million liters in exhibition fish tanks and 200 million liters in a large lake, whose management plan will be the responsibility of the biologists of the Agency's Research Center.
