Back then, a case of twelve half-liter bottles cost 2 pesos with 10 cents, while a carton of twelve small bottles sold for 1 peso with 50 cents.

The original brewery extended to the edge of Zaragoza Park, initially employing only ten men. Soon after, it opened a wholesale and retail distribution center.

In 1954, the company was acquired by Grupo Modelo and later became part of the portfolio of Belgian-Brazilian brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Pacífico’s success did not go unnoticed, and in June 2012, Grupo Modelo officially incorporated the brewery in a deal worth approximately 20 million dollars. Grupo Modelo, based in Belgium, is also known for global brands like Budweiser and Corona.

The event took place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, on the Mazatlan boardwalk and was organized by Canaco Servytur Mazatlan, the National Gastronomic Council of Mazatlan (CONAGAM), and Club Vatel Mazatlan Chapter, which brought together 300 chefs who prepared the dish from very early in the morning.

All of this, with the aim of highlighting and repositioning Mazatlan's gastronomic and cultural richness internationally, is worth noting that the pearl of the Pacific boasts major hotel chains in Mazatlán, and the port is also proud to boast the largest tuna fleet in Latin America.

The event stretched from the Mazatlan sign to a kilometer along Avenida del Mar (Malecon). At 4:00 p.m., the dish assembly began. Hundreds of planks were set up to prepare the tuna dish in a linear and continuous manner (an essential requirement for achieving the new Guinness Record).

The dishes were arranged along tables set up from the Mazatlan Literature Photo Booth to Insurgentes Avenue. The setup took about two and a half hours and began with the placement of containers filled with ice, which were necessary to preserve the tuna.

First, the tuna strips were placed, then another team of people were in charge of placing the cucumber, onion, chili, sesame seeds, and finally, the traditional black sauce with lemon to give it a delicious flavor.

The event was enlivened by approximately 10 musical groups, which performed the greatest hits of regional Mexican music, ensuring that all attendees enjoyed a 100% family-friendly, festive atmosphere, and the best flavors of the port.

It's worth noting that one of the key requirements for validating the Guinness World Record was that all the sashimi had to be consumed, so the attendance of hundreds of people was necessary to achieve this prestigious achievement.

The biologist also mentions that the problem with seahorses is that you have to understand how to farm them, and that they have developed their own biotechnology for proper seahorse farming in captivity.

As if that weren't enough, the tour also includes a visit to the grow-out tanks, where the baby seahorses grow. The main building houses a variety of aquariums. Here, you can see seahorses at different stages of development, from juveniles to adults.
